As we start the new year I wanted to update the video game band image to reflect the new look.  The big difference is we’ve decided to go into that awkward 90’s / 00’s look.  Where polygons got a little bit better but still not quite good (or something like that :P). Hit us up if you think we should do some wall papers and even iOS / Android stuffs.

It’ll be awhile before we update the concert game to reflect this look too.  As you may know we are an indie company and we do all this in our other spare time so things take a little longer to cycle through but we will get there!


Here is how an illien will point to an object that it wants or tell you where it wants to go. Because its hands and feet are so small, it uses telepathy to communicate.  In this instance, it will jump into the air, turn to the object or destination, and fire a thought-beam at it.

When watching this, you’ll have to imagine the turn and the thought-beam, as they get added later in engine.

Tonight took way longer then expected.  Still trying to get everything set up so I can capture what I’m doing to show you guys.  I thought I was going to record it to my phone, but there is ghosting… so I might do a capture instead.  Below is the landing animation.


I wanted the illien to land on his face.  Then it would flip up to let you know it was alright and then shake off the dirt.  The dirt will be added later in another engine. (Psst – that’s the surprise I’m not talking about just yet).



I also made changes to the eyes after all the feedback I got on facebook.  Thanks, guys.  Hope you enjoy the slow blink where the eyes blink at different speeds.  I love how it makes them look just a little S-L-O-W.

I’ll be doing more of these each night, and it’ll get a little more detailed.  Yay!



Hey! So I’m going to expose some of my workflow to you.  I’m not going to talk about what it is for just yet… (It’s a surprise!) …but let me take you on an hour-long journey.  Journ-eeeeeey! Tonight I’m doing some animation.  (WHAT?!) I drew a nice little character for the surprise *wink*.  I’m going to call it… Illien.

Then I modeled it up in 3DS Max, which is my favourite program, but you can use all the others as well (which I think autodesk own .. right? :P)



Now, let’s do some animations. Falling is the first one, so I want it to scream and have its ears flapping. So let’s do the animation before working on its adorbs face.


It needs some clean-up, but I gave myself 1 hour to do the whole thing, so let’s move on to the face.

It may not work, but this made me laugh. It’s like… streaky and ARGH. Let’s put it together.

Arrrrr! Arrrrr!

Yah.  Now tomorrow I’ll look over it again and see if I like it, and then I’ll move on to other things in the animation list.  Hope to have this coming together by the weekend.  Wish me luck!
